MAIN DESTINATIONS
ALLEPPY
Popularly referred to as “Venice of the east”,
Alappuzha or Alleppey is a quaint little town
located 70 km south of Kochi. Although Kerela’s
entire coastline is 550 km long, her navigable
inland of rivers, canals and lakes totals 1,920
km. It is India’s most beautiful regions, with
narrow canals, wide rivers and vast expenses of
water such as Vembanand Lake.
MUNNAR
At 1600n above the sea level, Munnar is a nature
lovers paradise with its sprawling tea gardens
and winding lanes. The misty hills with tea
plantations appear like velvet lawns on the
mountain slopes. Some of the highest tea gardens
of the world are located in Munnar. The Forests
are full of exotic flora and fauna. You can see
a rare flower like the Neelakurinji blooming
here. Munnar has the highest peak in south India
- Anamudi, at the height of 2695 m.
THEKKADY
Also famous as the Peiyar wild life sanctuary,
Thekkady is a popular destination for adventure
lovers. It boasts of many resorts. You can go
Trekking, boating , fishing etc. The best time
to spot wild elephants at their watering hole-
the Periyar lake is daybreak or sundown. You can
the the playful giants from the safety of a
motorboat.
KUMARAKOM
Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the
Vembanand lake. It is about 23 km from Alleppy.
Waterways and canals cut through the landscape,
adding to the beauty. Leisure options like
boating and fishing keep tourist engaged at
Kumarakom. Kumarakom has a tropical climate
where the temperature ranges between 16 – 38
degree .
VARKALA
The Varkala beach is located in the temple town
of Varkala which is 54 km north of
Thiruvanthampuram. It is famous for the
Janardhan Swamy Temple – dedicated to lord
Ayyappa, this temple is about 800 to 2000 years
old. Also called the Papanasam beach, a dip here
is supposed to wash away all your sins.
KOVALAM
Kovalam is located 16 km from Trivandrum.
Kovalam means “a grove of coconut trees” and
owing to its natural beauty, it has earned the
epithet “paradise of the south”. The beach is
shaped like a cresent and has three parts. True
to its name, all you can see in Kovalam are
coconut trees. The light house beach overlooks
the Vizhinjam mosque. Excellent accommodation
supplements the beauty and serenity of Kovalam.

KOZHIKODE
Kozhikode, formerly know as Calicut, lies
between the districts of Kannur and Malappuram
in Kerela. Vasco de Gama landed in Kozhikode in
AD 1498 and was the first to discover the trade
route to India. Though a busy commercial town,
today Kozhikode has a bewitching beauty of its
own with tranquil beaches, hills, backwaters,
wildlife sanctuaries and places of worship.It
was from Calicut that the word Calico
originated. The historic Kappad beach lies 16 km
from Kozhikode. Vasco de Gama landed here in AD
1498, and a monument on the beach commemorates
the event.
